Benefits of Choosing Modern Tile Floors

red hr line

There are many advantages of choosing modern floor tiles for your home. Available in a multitude of materials, tiles are available in beautiful designs. They are easy to install, easy to clean and maintain, and are highly practical. There are more design options available in tiles than almost any other flooring options. You could even find designs imitating hardwood and natural stone. There’s lot to tiles than meets the eye.

Easier Installation

Tiles are also easier to install compared to hardwood, natural stone and carpets . Installation will usually require removing the protecting backing from the tile and fixing them in place. You can find endless designs, colors and patterns and be as creative as you can be. So it doesn’t matter what kind of décor you already have in your room, you can always find tile flooring that matches it.

Easier Maintenance

Tile floors are easier to maintain than other options. There is no need to use any special cleansing products. Ceramic and vinyl floors are highly resistant to stain and are easier to clean. You can wipe away spills without leaving any marks. And regular cleaning requires nothing more than soap water.

Easier Repair

It is also easier to repair these floors. If one or two tiles get damaged, you can remove and replace them without affecting the other tiles. There is general misconception that repairing ceramic tiles is difficult. But all types of tile floors can be repaired with ease unless the damage is spread across a larger area. The ease of repair for these floors means that they can continue looking new compared to other floors.

Highly Durable

Porcelain tiles are among the most durable tile floors. They are denser and considered better for areas with heavy traffic. The advantage with porcelain tiles is that they are baked at much higher temperature and for longer duration. The higher percentage of feldspar in them further helps enhance durability.

Highly Versatile

Tile floors are also considered to be highly versatile. You can use tiles in almost any room in your house – even in your kitchen and bathroom. It is no longer a surprise to come across modern tiles in the family room. Rugs are often matched with tile floors, not only for their elegance but also because they are easy to clean.

Ceramic tiles may not be recommended for outdoor installation, but porcelains are considered ideal for both outdoors and indoors. Traditionally, tiles were not recommended for outdoors, but the trend has changed thanks to new technologies in modern tiles. Although ceramics can crack in freezing conditions, porcelain offers many advantages. You can find porcelain tiles which are specifically designed for exterior applications.

More Affordable

Tile floors are cheaper than exotic flooring options but can help you achieve same aesthetic appeal without all their flaws. For example, you can have a floor that looks exactly like natural stone but doesn’t feel cold. Similarly, you can also create the looks of hardwood flooring in your home.

Additional Benefits

Some porcelain tiles are fired at temperatures in excess of 1,400 degrees. This can make them even harder than granite. Especially the modern tiles are even harder than their earlier counterparts. Even the color of these tiles is more homogenous. The color typically runs deep down into the tile. So you don't have to worry that the color could fade away after some time.

Such modern tiles are quality materials and can help improve your home’s value. Adding these floors to your home will not only make things convenient for you, they can also help make your home more easily saleable.
