First know where the tiles are fixed and then start removing them.

The Easy Process Of Removing Tiles

The first thing while removing tiles is to create a starting point. In order to create the point you will have to use a chisel and hammer. Break the tile in the middle and remove it completely with the help of these tools. Please don’t lose your patience because you never know how the tiles were installed. It can be fixed with an adhesive, or mortar. So it is better to know what so that you can go ahead with the job properly.

Once you break the tile you can place the chisel on the edge of the tiles. Now, put pressor on the grout line and remove tiles once by one. Remember that the effort required will be different. So don’t lose home at any point of time.

Use a floor scrapper to remove the tiles. You can also use other similar tools for the same outcome. It is important that you use some sort of machine as you will not be able to do it naturally. Once you start doing that you will get to know what kind of adhesive was used for the tiles. It can become really easy or really very tough. Removing the adhesive is important. It is also important to remove the underlying layer if it is damaged. However, some parts can be kept intact if you feel they can be reused.

Once you are done with the removing of the tiles, you shall now clear the debris. There may be different parts remaining beneath the tiles and those must be removed. If there is any exposed nail in the tiles, you shall also remove the same.

Once you have done the removal, it is important to check the condition of the floor. This will give you an idea if the floor is ready for next installation or not.
