Why Choose solid hardwood floors for high traffic areas?

red hr line

Flooring makes an important part of home construction. The flooring needs of houses are different according to the number of people staying and the amount of use. While hardwood is still considered to be one of the best flooring options, the high cost sometimes make people purchase other flooring options. Vinyl, laminate, bamboo, cork and concrete flooring are soon becoming common choice for homeowners. While each of them is good for separate reasons, they will eventually be something best for some areas.

While hardwood is the most costly option it is the most durable one too. The charm that it brings is incomparable with anything else and thus it is quite dominant as an option. It may not be possible for you to have the same flooring for the whole house but it is possible to have it in some portion of the house, especially the area with high traffic. There are several reasons why hardwood is better for high traffic areas.

Why Hardwood Is Good For High Traffic Areas?

- The modern hardwood is rock-hard. It can bear any wear and tear and even when it is in the high traffic area, it will not be damaged. Many fill hardwood to not be an option just because it expands and can have scratches and dents, but that is not true. It is hard and even after the wear and tear it will retain its class and appeal.

- High traffic areas require heavy cleaning too and cleaning hardwood is not a big deal. Damp mopping or sweeping is enough to clean the hardwood flooring and that is the best part of it. Maintenance can be done in every five to ten years.  The shade fades with time but even then it looks good. The maintenance is also not going to cost high.

- If high traffic is meant by babies and pets, then also, hardwood is a great choice. The spills and stains can be removed quite easily. The dog hair will be visible no matter where it is left. You can just sweep through the floor and collect the dirt in order to clean.

- It is possible to change parts of the floor in case of any damage. The repairing is not going to take much time and it can be done by the homeowner, too. The cost is not going to be quite high if you purchase the flooring from a good dealer that offer repairing service too.

Hardwood flooring is a good choice not only because it is hard but also because it looks quite nice. There may not be several options as far as the design is concerned but it looks good with any interior. The feel and the comfort along with style are the best part of buying it. The flooring remains cool in hot weather too and thus it is comfortable for areas with heavy traffic and they tend to become hot at times. That is why hardwood would be the best choice.

It is always good if you can use hardwood for all your rooms but that would be quite costly. There are other flooring options available in the market, which can be used in those areas. Vinyl is soon coming up as a good option and it can also be used in the heavy traffic areas. Engineered hardwood is also a very good flooring option as the price is low and the look is just as good as hardwood floors. There are several companies that sell hardwood flooring at the best price. Websites can also be checked to find out several options in hardwood flooring.
