red hr line

Choosing the right kitchen flooring can be a critical job particularly because it involves considering a lot of factors. While choosing a kitchen flooring solution you have to keep in mind the longevity, the looks as well as the comfort level; and the increasing number of options available for flooring is making the task even more puzzling for the home owners. Before we inform you in detail about the different types of flooring solutions for kitchen, know one thing that every flooring solution comes with its own pros and cons; so you have to weigh them against your particular type of usage and requirements before making your final choice.

When it comes to durability you can certainly place concrete, stone and rubber flooring solutions at the top, but they might not be the most comfortable options. On the other hand, bamboo, cork and carpet tiles are the most comfortable flooring available, but they are not very much durable and are prone to scratches which can be a real problem for kitchens. Read on about the different flooring solutions and their pros and cons as kitchen flooring,

Concrete kitchen flooring: Concrete kitchen flooring can be made in different colors and textures to match with the interior of the home and they surely make one of the most durable and cost effective solutions. Concrete flooring also has minimum maintenance needs; they are not scratched and damaged easily. On the down side, concrete floors are hard and they might be not so good a choice when it comes to standing for long on them. In addition to that concrete floors tend to be cold and you will need to think about a floor heating solution as well. The other problem is that some types of concrete flooring tend to get stains from spillage, so you need to opt for a polish that does not take stains, which can again add to the cost.

Stone flooring for kitchens: Stone can be a sophisticate flooring solution for the kitchen. They come in various looks and patterns and look rally great on kitchen floors. Stone flooring are hard, durable and easy to clean and can make a good option for hotter regions. However, stone flooring does not feel soft beneath the feet and the natural coldness of stone can be real bothering in colder climates. In addition to that some types of stones are prone to get stains and stones like slate can also chip due to heavy usage.

Vinyl for kitchen flooring: Vinyl is an affordable flooring solution that is available in various types and styles. Vinyl looks great on floors and they are comfortable under the feet. Vinyl is also resistant to water and stains which can be a big plus point for using vinyl in the kitchen. The primary problem with vinyl floors is that they release some harmful gases after installation, which is not preferred for kitchens.

Bamboo for kitchen flooring: Bamboo is an eco friendly flooring solution that can give your kitchen a great look while feeling comfortable beneath the feet. Bamboo floors are easy to maintain and they are also highly durable. On the down side, the best quality bamboo floors are expensive, and the not so good ones might be prone to damage and staining. Bamboo floors can also be prone to scratches and any spillage needs to be cleaned immediately to ensure that it does not take stains.

Other flooring options for kitchens include cork flooring, Hardwood floors, laminate wood flooring and rubber flooring. Cork flooring is an ecofriendly option that offers a great look and feel, but might be prone to scratches. Laminate wood flooring is expensive, but otherwise they might be good for kitchen flooring. Rubber kitchen flooring encapsulates all the features to make a perfect flooring solution for kitchens, but then again some people might be sensitive to it.
